The UWCA creates great adventures for youth, families, and adults on the Mississippi River. Join us for a day trip, overnight camping trip, or multi-day trip. It's an experience that will last a lifetime.

Group and Custom Trips

To arrange a trip for your school or group simply call 612-676-9400, email us at info@wildernessinquiry.org or complete a trip quote request.

The UWCA program takes trips with schools, non-profit organizations, families, and other groups. Most of our UWCA trips are organized this way. View trip overview information.

Timing and activities: Sample trip itinerary. Most UWCA field trips take about four and half hours. You will paddle a few miles down the Mississippi River and get to stop for lunch breaks and fun activities along the way.

Choose a trip theme to determine what activities your group will do. An experienced Wilderness Inquiry guide or National Park Service ranger will be with you in the boat at all times.  Everyone can do this trip even if you can’t swim and don’t know how to paddle.

Transportation: On group trips, groups must arrange transportation to the start and end point of the trip. On public trips, individuals typically meet at the end point and are shuttled to the start point of the trip for no additional cost.

Location: Route Map. There are three main route options running from River Park, in Brooklyn Park, through Minneapolis and all the way to downtown Saint Paul.

Who:  Everyone! You don’t need to know how to paddle to come, in fact you don’t even need to be able to swim to come. We take groups ranging in size from 20- 200.
